RecCare, Inc. is a privately owned company providing community based recreation therapy support for individuals with developmental disAbilities in Philadelphia and surrounding counties. Currently, we are looking for Recreation Therapists to join our team.

We operate seven days a week in a virtual work environment allowing our staff to have a flexible schedule contingent on client's needs. We are looking for individuals who are able to

  • Travel throughout Philadelphia and surrounding area to support our clients.
  • Have flexibility in coordinating client sessions including working some weekends and evenings .

The examples of Essential Functions and Responsibilities are:

  • Assists, guides, models and counsels within the area of healthy social and recreational behaviors and choices according to the support plan, taking into account clients' functional, nutritional, allergic or behavioral restrictions.
  • Assists with formulation of clients' individualized activities.
  • Prepares progress note for clients to document client behavior.
  • Participates in initial and ongoing in-service training.

  • Client focused with great customer service and dedication to outstanding care for individual with profound disabilities.
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels in a positive and professional manner in personal contacts, by telephone and in writing.

  • Dependable with flexibility and patience to handle sensitive situations.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's or higher in recreational therapy, special education and/or any other degree with a combination of related training, education and experience.
  • Experience with aquatics, music, arts and crafts, etc. is a plus.
  • A current valid driver's license with a clean driving record .
  • Current possession or ability to obtain criminal, PA child abuse, First Aid, CPR, and other documentation.
  • Ability to lift, support and assist clients including the ability to drive a 7 passenger van.
  • Have his/her own cell phone, access to PC and the ability to use various software programs.
  • Access to reliable and fully insured car maintained in an excellent working condition.

There are mileage allowance and reimbursement plans available for our employees. You must attend the full day mandatory new employee orientation sessions and four internal professional development trainings a year.

Weisman Children's Rehabilitation Hospital

CTRS Per Diem Staff Needed Immediately

The Therapeutic Recreation/Child Life Department is accepting applications for per diem Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists at Weisman Children's Rehabilitation Hospital in Marlton, NJ. This position will assist with regular staff vacation coverage, call outs, periods of high census and maternity leave. Day time hours are essential for this position. WCRH serves infants and children up to 20 years old with a variety of disabilities and illnesses. Candidates eligible for this position are required to be NCTRC certified. Prior experience in pediatrics or rehabilitation is strongly preferred.

Recreation & Expressive Therapists

KidsPeace National Treatment Centers, in Orefield, PA seeks FT Recreation Therapists and FT Expressive Therapists to work with emotionally and behaviorally challenged children and adolescents in an inpatient Hospital setting.

Recreation Therapist responsibilities include completing assessments, planning and implementing a therapeutic recreation program, participating as a member of the treatment team, and completing documentation to meet JCAHO standards.

Requirements
Candidate's must possess strong organizational skills, a bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation and be CTRS certified/eligible.

Expressive Therapist responsibilities include providing psychotherapeutic group experiences utilizing one or more creative arts therapy modalities, documenting progress of treatment, and participation as a member of the treatment team. Masters degree in a Creative Arts discipline and/or board certification required.

xperience working with children or adolescents required. The candidate must pass a Criminal Record History Clearance and a Child Abuse History Clearance which are processed by KidsPeace. Local travel requires a valid driver's license & reliable transportation. The candidate must pass a Physical & Drug Screening & possess the ability to attend and successfully complete all KidsPeace sponsored trainings.
